Bath Foam
Trumptonalia.
Character-based tubes off bath foam,manufactured by Wright,Layman & Umney

Each tube was 130ml,and approximately 16.5cm tall.

A mix of Camberwick and Trumpton characters were produced in 1971.
And the same company was also responsible for the range of character toothpaste produced at around the same time, and using a very similar tube design.
Which makes you wonder how many mums absent-mindedly squirted toothpaste in the bath water.

Sales were doubtless helped by offspring pushing to get their particular favourites. But this was still the throwaway 70's and very few pre-schoolers would have viewed them as "keepers".So they're not the easiest things to find now.

The 3 pics below are ...

2 adverts .... the 1st from a 1971 Woman's magazine .... the 2nd from a 1972 kids comic.
And an example of what they looked like in the shops, with the box design being standard throughout the range.
So that's Dr.Mopp and Sgt.Major Grout in the 2 ads, above. And Captain Flack to the right

With The Mayor being the only other character I know about.

And they can all be seen on the Toiletry Gift Sets page. ( a later repackaging ).
But then you start musing about some of the others that might have been made too.
Windy ( obviously ) ... Captain Snort ( because of Grout ) ... Mickey Murphy ... Mrs Cobbit ( her toothpaste tube was a particularly colourful standout. ) ... and so on.

Although after that things start getting a bit more complicated.Simply because any prospective candidate really needs a "hook" to be easily identifiable  ie. a uniform of some description ... or some flowers in Mrs Cobbit's case.

Someone like Mrs.Honeyman was certainly an "A" lister, but distinctive enough even holding her baby  ? Not sure.
And Miss Lovelace ? Too much to cram in with her 3 dogs. And without them  ?  Unlikely.
And so it goes on.

But until then ...
